Andria Yost awarded the Presidential Innovation Award for Environmental Educators

At MMAEC, we are committed to fostering environmental stewardship and empowering students to become mindful, active citizens in their communities. One of our educators, Andria Yost, recently received the prestigious U.S. EPA Presidential Innovation Award for Environmental Educators in recognition of her exceptional dedication to teaching and inspiring the next generation of environmental leaders.

Her work reflects the profound impact that passionate educators can have on shaping a sustainable future. We were honored to celebrate Andria’s achievement during a special visit from Anne Vogel, the U.S. EPA Region 5 Administrator.

Anne Vogel also helped MMAEC students celebrate a remarkable milestone. Muskegon Lake has officially been delisted from the EPA’s list of the most polluted places in the Great Lakes. This achievement, which marks the culmination of decades of cleanup and collaboration, demonstrates the power of community action, education, and persistence.

As we celebrate Muskegon Lake’s recovery and Andria Yost’s recognition, we remain focused on building on these successes and are grateful for the continued support of our community. We look forward to another year of growth and engagement. Be sure to stay connected with us on Facebook and visit us here for the latest updates!
