We are excited to announce that MMAEC has earned two recognitions from the Michigan Department of Education for the 2024-2025 school year! This year we’ve received the MiMTSS Recognition for the School Data Utilization for Reading and Behavior, as well as a Tier 1: Bronze Implementation and Impact award.
This recognition highlights our commitment to addressing and meeting the needs of our students through the MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Support) framework. MTSS is a powerful, evidence-based approach designed to improve student outcomes in academics and behavior. Allowing us to provide extra support to ensure students stay on track with their peers. Examples of intervention strategies include:
- Universal screening for all students at the beginning of the school year.
- Providing additional, targeted support for students who face challenges.
- Creating comprehensive plans to address students’ academic, behavioral, social, and emotional needs.
- Adopting a schoolwide approach where teachers, counselors, psychologists, and other specialists collaborate to assess students and plan interventions.
- Offering professional development to enable staff to deliver effective interventions and track progress.
- Encouraging family involvement so parents and caregivers understand and can reinforce interventions at home.
- Regularly monitoring student progress to determine if further intervention is necessary.
- Implementing evidence-based strategies across each level of support.
At MMAEC, we are proud to be recognized for the hard work and dedication of our faculty and staff, as well as the ongoing support of our entire community.
Thank you for your continued support! Stay connected with us for updates here on our website and Facebook to see how we’re making a difference every day!
